At the Playplace

This is an awesome place for free entertainment. Little kids running around playing with other kids they do not even know. Somehow a child ends up being punked on the little boat, the captain is thrown overboard and begains an onslaught of tears. A little girl in front of me is crying her heart out, she pronably got spat on in the magic school bus.
My son loves the slide, but right now he is happy hugging momma. It took a few visits for him to gather the courage to conquer the slide, and now he is hooked....now a moment of no child crying.
Most of the time he sticks to himself, not joining the other children in their fun. Able to entertain himself, he sticks out of the croud, often just content watching others play. In a sense he is like me, not needing to be in the group, just happy enough within my own devices. He just made an escape out of the playplace, with momma following a diatance behind.
Now i am standing a diatance away from him as he is checking every machine for candy, he has had some luck because he has some yellow candy in his hand. I am standing far enough away to make it look like he is there at the candy spot with no adult supervision, hell, he has not even seen me. People just walk on by, not even concerned that this kid is all alone. That or they do not even notice the little guy at all.
Eventually he notices me, so i walk up to him and tell him he needs 50 cents for candy. Out of the corner of my eye i notice a man stop and watch me interact with this kid. I am thinking he is thinking i am a child predator or something. Nope, he hands me 2 quarters and wishes me a Merry Christmas. Now my son has some candy money!!!
It is shortly after this that some people begin to show concern....here is a man on his phone enticing this lone child with chocolate covered raisens, that is until he calls me daddy.
